At this stage in the contest, instead of us judges asking questions, what is the one question you would like to ask us and why?” the question that was put forth to the final seven contestants of ‘Clean and Clear Miss Teen Nepal — A Cultural Talent Show 2007.’

Every girl poured down that one important question that would decide her fate in two minutes flat.

Of all the different answers, “No one can judge anyone by the answer they give but the question they ask. If I were to be the judge then I would ask you, what role are you playing currently to develop Nepal in every context?” was the winning answer that gave Aayusha Karki the title of Miss Teen Nepal 2007. Prekshya Adhikari was the First Runner Up and Anita Silwal was chosen as the Second Runner Up for their brilliant questions.

The event held at BICC on September 7 started with Sur Sudha playing a melodious tune and the girls gradually came on stage. Dressed in evening gowns the girls performed an elegant group dance. The girls were then invited for the introductory round, for which each girl came to the mike and displayed her charming personality and confident attitude. The top five nominees of the Talent round which took place on September 6, came on stage and flaunted their talents and showed everyone whey they deserved to be chosen as the top five. It was followed by the ‘Cultural Dress Show’, where each participant exhibited her creation, an amalgamation of tradition and modernity.

The event then took the step which many were looking forward to while many dreaded as 10 finalists would move on to the next round and 10 would be left behind. The judges Pradeep Man Vaidya, Kapil Shrestha, Pratima Pande, Indra Lohani, Ragini Upadhyaya and Usha Khadgi selected their top 10 favourites. The girls then had to go through a gruelling question and answer round. Each of the girls was asked a question by the judge they had picked. The questions ranged from education, problem of youth, meaning of inner beauty to the constituent assembly. For each interesting question the girls had an equally interesting answer. While some answers were good, some were excellent and that’s what took the seven girls to the grand finale.

The event was organised by JCI Kathmandu and sponsored by Clean & Clear and co-sponsored by Scholar, PHEMS and Coca Cola. Tisha Jwolan Jewellery sponsored the crown and the official dress designers for the program were A & A Fashion Boutique.It was supported by DECC, Orange, World Wide Fashion, Space Time Network, Sky Cable TV and Makwana. The official media were The Himalayan Times and Kantipur Television Network.
