Golden Gate beat K&K 52-45 and entered the quarter-finals of the 7th Men’s and 6th women’s Samsung National Basketball Championship here at the National Sports Council covered hall today.
Bipen Maharjan, who is also the national team skipper, top-scored with 21 points for Golden Gate while Rajeev Shakya netted 19 for K&K.
In other men’s section matches, Sunsari beat Kaski 62-40 riding on Min Pun’s 21 points; Ankit Rajbhandari contributed 16 as Rupandehi thrashed Makawanpur 62-14; and Bijay Khatri of Times Club top-scored with 16 points in Times Club’s 73-25 win over Rato Bangala. Ram Sunuwar netted 17 for Sunsari, Niranjan Shrestha was the top-scorer for Makawanpur with six points and Jenish had eight points for Rato Bangala.
In women’s section, Kopila Pun netted 12 points as Kaski beat Shrine 39-29. Bina Nakarmi of Shrine top-scored with 13 points. Bishal Nagar defeated Oasis 52-31 riding on Roshin Gurung’s 22 points. Maya Syangtan netted 16 for Oasis.
