Task force formed to tackle crimes

Kathmandu, October 4:

A task force has been formed under the coordination of Namgyal Lama, chairman of the Thamel Tourism Development Council, to control criminal activities in Thamel, a popular tourist destination.

A meeting, which was attended by representatives of local clubs, organisations and entrepreneurs, decided to form the task force.

Task force members include outgoing chairman of the council, Ganesh Bahadur Pandey, Vice Chairman of the Thamel Reform Committee, Uttam Adhikari, secretary, Mahesh Maharjan, inspectors, Tapan Dahal (Metropolitan police department, Lainchaur), Ramesh Thapa (Metropolitan police department, Durbar marg), Yadav Dhakal (traffic police, Durbar Marg) and Arjun Prasad Timilsinha (tourist police) and chief of Kathmandu metropolitan security department, Dhanapati Sapkota and member secretary, Thamel Tourism Development Council, RamSharan Thapaliya.
