KATHMANDU:
A huge crowd had gathered at Club Platinum, Hotel Yak and Yeti on October 12 for the ‘Autumn break party’ organised by Kaalbhairav.
The party started around 7:00 pm and the dance floor was quite empty in the beginning. But the night was still very young and at around 9:00 pm youngsters started pouring in. Girls in sexy and trendy attire arrived in groups. A few took to the floor, but many rather than showing off their dance moves, they just stood there giggling. Some however did turn up the heat. The party animals grooved to the mixes of DJ Tenzing.
Guest artistes Unity Band presented few of their numbers. However, people preferred watching the singers perform than dance to their beats.
As soon as they sang their very popular number Chyangba, the crowd rushed to the floor as a group. Dancing to mixes like Gasolina, Partner, Hips don’t lie, Get busy, Candy shop, Ban ma phulyo phul and Where’s the party tonight among others, the party continued till the wee hours. — HNS

President of Kathmandu City Round Table (event organiser), Rajesh Tulsiyan inaugurated the programme. Then in a medley of popular Hindi dance numbers, the dandia dancing started. The dholak beats charged up the visitors. Some were apparently new to dandia dancing and looked lost in the milieu.
Anchor/DJ Kajol kept spurring the crowd in the colourful ambience to enjoy more. Special gifts were given away to the best dancers and intelligent ones. A DJ session followed the dancing.
Navaratri, which starts nine days prior to tika, is especially celebrated in Gujarat, India. “We have tried to give a new taste to people,” explained Palden Sherpa, event supervisor, Suryakala Films. — HNS
