Delgado denies report

QUITO: Ecuadorean striker Augustin Delgado on Wednesday ruled out returning to the national team for upcoming World Cup qualifiers, but said he may return in the future. Last month, the 33-year-old forward announced his retirement from the national team, but many have been clamoring for his return after Ecuador was shut out in its first two 2010 World Cup qualifying matches. Venezuela beat Ecuador 1-0 in Quito, and Brazil topped Ecuador 5-0 in Sao Paulo last week. — AP
