The University of Bath is set in an attractive campus about a mile from the centre of Bath, England, a World Heritage City. It is a safe and friendly campus with strong student services and good social opportunities. Its sports facilities are first-class. The University has had close connections with industry and the public and voluntary sectors since its inception in 1966. It has developed strong links with universities abroad. Its research is internationally-respected, and its students are in demand by employers because of the high quality of the teaching

Scholarships

There are 40 scholarships for undergraduate students and 40 for postgraduate students. The scholarships are awarded on academic merit. Each one is worth £3,000 and will be in the form of a discount in tuition fees. The scholarships are for one year only.

Accommodation

The university guarantees accommodation either on campus or in the city centre for all first year undergraduates and all postgraduate overseas fees payers who are studying at the Claverton campus. Accommodation on campus is all within a five-minute walk of all the facilities including the teaching rooms.

Levels of study

Foundation Year offers Engineering, Science, Management and the Social Sciences.

Undergraduate — the university offers both single and combined honours degrees.

Postgraduate degree courses can be either taught or by research or they may contain elements of both, for example MPhil.

English language requirements

The minimum requirements

for the foundation year are — IELTS 5.5, TOEFL 520 (paper test), TOEFL 190 (computer test), TOEFL 68

(Internet test).

The minimum requirements for undergraduate programmes are — IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 550 (paper test), TOEFL 213 (computer test), TOEFL 80 (Internet test). Some programmes have a higher requirement.

The minimum requirements for postgraduate taught and research programmes are — IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 580 (paper test), TOEFL 237 (computer test), TOEFL 92 (Internet test).
