Eight Nepali cricketers registered for initial draft of IPL auction

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 6
Eight Nepali cricketers have been recommended for the initial draft of auction for the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL). The IPL is a Twenty20 cricket tournament held among various clubs in India.
Nepali leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane, who had been with the Delhi Capitals for three seasons, is now released by the club and is free to join any of the clubs in the tournament.
According to Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), names recommended for the IPL 2021 include Dipendra Singh Aiyer, Binod Bhandari, Karan KC, Sompal Kami, Sharad Bheshwakar, Avinath Bohara and Kushal Malla, along with Lamichhane.
The auction for the IPL is taking place in Chennai of India on February 18. This will decide if the Nepali cricketers are selected for the tournament.
A total of 1,097 cricketers from 15 countries have registered themselves for the IPL 2021. This includes 814 from India itself.
Meanwhile, other players are from Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America, West Indies, and Zimbabwe.
