KATHMANDU:

A drug prevention awareness programme was organised by the Little Angels’ College of Management, Student Council, Social Club on November 23 at the college premises. Students from the +2 level and under graduate students took part in the programme. This programme was organised in association with NARCONON. According to Laxman Mandal, co-ordinator of the programme, “The interaction sessions were quite effective. Previous drug addicts who had been rehabilitated at NARCONON shared their stories with the students. They talked about their personal experiences and how taking drugs had had a negative effect in their lives.”

He added, “We also hope to make LACM popular as a drug-free college.”

Basanta Raj Kunwar, International Director of NARCONON said, “There are more than 1 lakh youngsters who are taking drugs. We want to prevent those who are not on drugs from taking it.” — HNS
