Locals protest closure of Team Hospital

Dadeldhura, November 27:
The Team Hospital, which was being run as per an agreement between the government and the Team Nepal, has been closed since yesterday after the term of the agreement expired from November 23.
Issuing a press statement yesterday, the hospital informed all concerned sides including the Health Ministry, the District Administration Office (DAO), the District Public Health Office and the Amargadhi Municipality about the closure.
Meanwhile, locals staged demonstration at Amargadhi demanding early resumption of hospital services. They also blocked the highways, padlocked the District Public Health Office and gheraoed the District Administration Office.
They also demanded for the implementation of the cabinet’s decision on March 15 last to hand over government and non-government hospitals to the communities.
The 46-bed hospital was established 44 years ago.
