Deadlock will end soon, says minister Gurung

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prithivi Subba Gurung today said that the political deadlock in the country will be solved within a few days.
Speaking at a press conference organised by the Kaski chapter of Press Chautari Nepal, he said, “Nepali Congress is positive over the issue of announcing a republic so the political deadlock will end in a few days.”
“The seven parties will draw a conclusion after reaching agreement over the issues of announcing republic and adopting fully proportional representation system in the constituent assembly election,” he said.
Stressing the need of announcing the date of constituent assembly polls at the earliest, he said that the seven parties may reach to an agreement of implementing 70 per cent of proportional system for the election.
Stating that the Cabinet has already decided to hold the CA polls within 2064 BS, he said that senior leaders of seven parties should decide to hold CA elections by mid-April.
He said that the construction of regional airport in Pokhara could be initiated if the proposals sent to organisations in China and Japan were approved.
He said that Neejgarh in Bara district was an appropriate place for construction of an international airport in the country.
