Adhikari-Malakar talk

KATHMANDU: Dr Rishi Raj Adhikari, envoy to Malaysia on Monday held discussions with Surendra Bir Malakar, president of Nepal Chamber of Commerce. The newly-appointed envoy promised to promote Nepal’s trade. Similarly, they discussed

various issues related to bilateral trade and foreign employment. On the occasion, NCC also urged Dr Adhikari to give emphasis for economic diplomacy. Malaysia is one of the most-favoured foreign job destination for Nepalis.— HNS

Proton posts profit

KATHMANDU: Proton Holdings Bhd, a Malaysian automaker, has reported its first profit in six quarters, as the newly launched Persona sedan lifted sales in the three months that ended on September 30. For the quarter just ended, Proton posted a net profit of Malaysian Ringgit (RM) 3.5 million on revenue of RM 1.3 billion, compared to a loss of RM 250 million on a turnover of RM 1.27 billion a year earlier.
