Call to act against corruption

By Himalayan News Service

Pokhara, December 9:

Senior journalists today urged fellow journalists to focus on investigative journalism for making the corruption-related news public.

Speaking at the interaction on ‘Role of Press in Controlling Corruption’ jointly organised by the Kaski chapter of FNJ and Civil Society Project against Corruption, journalist Keshavraj Poudel said that media have to play vital role as the cases of corruption are rising.

Saying that corruption is not controlled after the Jana Andolan II, Poudel blamed leaders of political parties for being involved in corruption.

“Since there is right to information, news of corruption should be made public,” journalist Madhav Sharma said, adding: “Journalists writing news on corruption should be encouraged.”
