One Birendra Mahato, 25, of Madhopur-2 in Rautahat was critically injured when an unidentified gang fired at him on Wednesday night. Mahato, who sustained a bullet injury in his stomach, has been undergoing treatment at the Gaur Hospital and is free from danger, police said. The gang fired at Mahato while he was on the way to his house in Bariyapur VDC, DSP Ramesh Thapa said.
