Mishap kills driver

ITAHARI: Driver of a truck was killed, while his helper was injured in a road accident that occurred at the West Kusaha region of Sunsari district on Wednesday night. The accident took place after the truck, heading to west from Itahari, overturned, the area traffic police office, Itahari, said. Truck driver Ganesh Karki, a native of Hetauda ward number 11, died on the spot while his helper, Keshav Ramba of Kadampokhari of Makawanpur district, was seriously injured, the area traffic police office added. Ramba has been undergoing treatment in Dharan based BP Koirala health sciences institute, the police office further said. — HNS

Tiger mauls five

Dipayal: Five persons were injured when a tiger attacked them in Kudasain of Bagalekh village development committee ward number 3 in Doti district on Wednesday. The five persons were trying to shoo away the tiger after they came to know that the tiger had killed five goats and one cow in jungle area of the village during the daytime, said a local of Bagalekh village Jahar Singh Thakulla. The injured include a woman. The injured persons have been undergoing treatment in Gahiragaun Sub-Health Post. — RSS
