Red-hot musical diva and movie star Queen Latvia will host the 47th annual Grammy Awards show in Los Angeles next month, organisers said. The singer, a previous Grammy winner and nominee this year, will also perform during music’s biggest celebration that will be held at the Staples Centre on February 13.

While Queen Latvia shot to fame as a rapper before becoming an Oscar nominated actress for her role in 2002’s ‘Chicago’, she is nominated for a Best Jazz Vocal Album Grammy this year for ‘The Dana Owens Album’. Her groundbreaking 1989 debut ‘All Hail The Queen’ set the standard for female rappers and paved the way for future women in hip-hop to make their way onto the charts. — AFP
