NSU’s call to rein in YCL

Kathmandu, January 21:

Leaders of the Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) today called for an end to “excesses” of the Maoist-affiliated Young Communist League (YCL). Addressing a protest meet held by the NSU, treasurer of the NSU Kundan Raj Kafle called on the YCL to end its excesses.

NSU president Pradip Poudel called for an end to undesired activities of the YCL. He called for conduct of polls of the Free Students’ Union.

General secretary of the NSU Pratima Gautam said activities of the YCL have been hindering CA election-related activities of the NSU. She called on the Maoist leadership “to be more accountable”.

A protest rally taken out from the Tri-Chandra College turned into a meeting at Ratna Park after passing through Bagbazaar, Putalisadak, Bhrikuti Mandap and Shahid Gate.
