Pokhara, February 13:

Central member of the CPN-Maoist Hit Raj Pandey said today that the royalists are trying to revive monarchy at a time when the constituent assembly polls are round the bend.

Speaking at the 13th anniversary function of the CPN-Maoist here, Pandey accused the royalists of becoming active. He warned that anyone who tries to disrupt the CA polls will get his or her legs broken.

“When the seven parties have opted for a democratic republic, it des not behove anyone to lobby for monarchy,” Pandey said, adding that democracy envisaged by the Maoists was different from that outlined by the other parties. The Maoists’ democracy will be poor-oriented, federal and regionally autonomous, he said.

Maoist leaders and cadres will soon start campaigning in constituencies 1 and 2 of Kaski district for the CA polls, said Pandey, adding that the cadres will fan out in Kaski district and acquaint people with the Maoists’ election manifesto.

Central secretariat member of the Young Communist League Jhak Bahadur Malla appealed to the people to vote for the CPN-Maoist.
