32 arrested, freed
KATHMANDU: Police on Thursday afternoon arrested 32 agitating parents of the students studying MBBS in China who were staging a sit-in in front of the Health Ministry. However, they were released in the evening. They have been demanding that their children be allowed to undertake clinical clerkship in Nepali hospitals for a month. The parents said they would continue their protest until their demands were met. — HNS

BIRATNAGAR: Employees of the Golchha Organisation launched the second phase of agitation on Thursday across the nation, demanding that their 35-point charter of demands be met. President of All Nepal Industrial Workers’ Association Dhan Bahadur BK said on Thursday they started the stir after the organisation did not meet the demands. — HNS

NEPALGUNJ: Indian and Nepali officials on Wednesday agreed to hand over persons involved in crimes on Indo-Nepal border to their respective countries during a meeting at Baharaich. They agreed to control cross-border crimes. CDOs and police chiefs of Banke, Bardiya and Dang and Indian officials, including DM of Baharaich Sudhir Kumar Shreevastav, attended the meeting. A list of 60 criminals was handed over to Indian officials for extradition, Banke CDO Narendraraj Sharma said. — HNS
