UML to focus on polls

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the CPN-UML Central Election Mobilisation Committee on Sunday discussed the present situation and decided to focus all efforts of the party on the CA polls. The meeting, chaired by coordinator of the Election Mobilisation Committee and party General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal, decided to immediately hold district-level gatherings of the party workers for making preparations and campaigning for the election. — RSS

Poll officers’ training

Lalitpur: A two-day refreshment training of election officers kicked off in Godabari here from Sunday. Eighty-one trainees, including chief election officers from the Central Development Region, have been participating in the training, organised by the Election Commission. Inaugurating the training, Chief Election Commissioner Bhoj Raj Pokhrel said that the role of election officers would be crucial to successfully holding the CA polls, adding election is a medium to resolve the current stalemate. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu University on Sunday published the result of II MBBS University Examination that was held during December 2007/January 2008 by the University. — RSS

Plea for dry ports KATHMANDU: The 9th annual general meeting of the Nepal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industries that concluded here on Sunday has decided to request the Government of Nepal to construct dry ports near the Nepal-China border area in order to promote its trade with China. The general meeting also passed a proposal to request both the government to enforce the agreement reached to neutralise customs duty on Nepali products and facilitate customs checking. — RSS
