Kathmandu, March 21:
Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre and Norvic International Hospital (NIH) today organised a medical symposium to discuss on recent developments in interventional cardiology in Nepal, a press release issued by the Norvic International Hospital, said.
Dan Stav, Ambassador of Israel to Nepal, reiterated his commitment to support medical tie-ups between Israel and Nepal. Prof. Reuben Ilia, director of Cardiology, Saroka University Medical Centre, Israel shared experiences of acute heart attack treatment in Israel.
Dr Mahabir Krishna Malla, senior consultant surgeon and director of Norvic International Hospital, stressed the need of medical cooperation between the two countries. Dr Mahabir Krishna Malla also encouraged the cardiologists involved in angioplasty procedures.
Dr Shekhar Rajbhandari, Dr JP Jaiswal, Dr Himanshu Nepal, Dr Arun Maskey, Dr Yadav Bhatta and Dr Bharat Rawat all interventional cardiologists presented cases on angioplasties and stenting. Currently, angioplasties and stenting are being carried out only at the two hospitals.
