Kathmandu, April 13:
The number of poll cancellations is increasing day by day. The Election Commission today said that the elections in 98 polling stations would be held again, following the complaints of unfair election.
“The total number of polling stations where the polls have been cancelled has now reached to 98 of 21 constituencies in 12 districts,” said spokesperson of the commission Laxman
Bhattarai.
He added that among the total stations, 38 cancellations were decided by the EC while other decisions of 60 polling stations were made by local returning officers.
So far, the concerned chief returning officers or officers of the affected districts have set new dates of repolling. According to the new schedule, the repelling will be held in Saptari-1, Sarlahi-5 and Chitwan-5 on April 15.
In Mahottari, Arghakhachi-1 and 2, it will be held on April 16.
And on April 17, there will be repolling in Siraha, Sarlahi-5 and Dailekh 1.
The dates of repolling in Baglung 1, 2 and 3 as well as in Dhadhing 1 are yet to be decided.
According to the information received at the EC so far at 5.30 pm today, the counting of
the votes of 132 constituencies is underway.
The result of 81 constituencies have been declared so far.
