Gold price starts sliding after bull run

Kathmandu, April 26:

Gold price started to cool down after a long spell of bullish trend.

This week, gold closed at Rs 18950 per 10 gram — Rs 22,103 per tola (11.446 gram) on Friday, the closing day of the week from Rs 19,375 per 10 gram — Rs 22,599 per tola —

on Sunday.

According to Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association’s (NEGOSIDA), the price of precious yellow metal has come down due to partial strengthening of dollar.

“The stability in price of global crude prices and stability in US economy both pulled the price of the precious yellow metal down,” says NEGOSIDA.

The gold in the local bullion market opened at Rs 19,375 per 10 gram on Sunday and surged by Rs 130 to Rs 19,505 on Monday.

But on Tuesday, the price plunged by Rs 130 per 10 gram to Rs 19,375 and remained constant on Wednesday also.

On Thursday, the gold price again plunged by Rs 215 per 10 gram to Rs 19,160. The market closed on Friday, the last day of trading in the domestic market at Rs 18,950 loosing Rs 210 further.

Similarly, silver price has also witnessed a bearish trend this week.

Silver plunged by Rs 9.50 to close at Rs 377 per 10 gram on Friday from the opening price of Rs 386.50 on Sunday.
