Pokhara ‘A’ team will take on Ludhiana FA of Punjab in the inaugural match of the first Pepsi International Seven-A-Side Inter-club Football Tournament on Saturday.
Dharan and Kathmandu will play the second match on the inaugural day. A total of 16 teams are taking part in the nine-day tournament, which is being organised by the Seven-A-Side Football Federation (SFF).
The winners will receive Rs 75,000, while the runners up will get Rs 50,000. The man of the match, best player and a disciplined team will also be awarded. The organisers will select a team that will represent Nepal in the fifth South Asian Seven-A-Side Football Tournament in Sri Lanka.
The other teams are Herrick Boys of UK, Trinity Club, Dharan 7-A-Side, Kathmandu District FA, Adidas Nepal, Morang 7-A-Side, India 7-A-Side, RCT, Rastriya Jagriti Club, Pokhara ‘B’, Carlsberg Manang Marsyangdi Club, Rupandehi FA, Tata Steel of India and Hong Kong.
