Meet concludes

KATHMANDU: Speaker of House of Representatives Subash Chandra Nembang has inaugurated the eight National Veterinary Conference that was organised by Nepal Veterianary Association on May 8. The three-day long meet with the slogan of ‘Veterinarian in global trade and poverty alleviation’ concluded on Saturday. More than 400 veterinarians, scientists and deligates across the country and abroad took part in the meet. During the function, leading veterinarians, innovative farmers, co-operatives and organisations having their distinguished contribution were felicitated. — HNS

NTB at Dubai

KATHMANDU: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), along with four private companies, successfully participated in the ATM- 2008 held in Dubai, the UAE, from May 6-9. The Gulf region happens to be the fastest growing region in the world and this year’s ATM indicated that the 14-year-old international exhibition has doubled in size in the past four years. With 2,208 exhibitors from different aspects of the industry from all over the world, the ATM showcased tourism attractions and contacts of travel-related organisations, states a press release. — HNS

Condemnation

KATHMANDU: Federation of Contractors’ Associations of Nepal (FCAN) has condemned the murder of Taranath (Arjun) Bohora of Elite/Lamjungkali/MR & Group/Siddha/ Sakura JV. He was shot dead by an unidentified gang at Bisaunpura bridge construction site in Rupandehi last Tuesday. The gang had also vandalised construction materials and attacked workers. FCAN has asked government to provide adequate security for construction works . — HNS
