Woman thrashed

TANAHUN: Police arrested two youths of Dabhung on Tuesday on the charge of thrashing a pregnant woman. Yamuna Gurung, 19, a resident of Dabhung of Jamune-9, was beaten up by Baburam Pariyar, 21, and Bechuram Pariyar, 27, after an argument, ASI Narhari Adhikari of district police office said. Gurung alleged that her unborn child had died due to the thrashing. —HNS

Child not yet freed

ITAHARI: Cops are clueless about the whereabouts of a child, who was abducted a week ago by an unknown gang from Babiya-2, Sunsari. Sushil Kumar Shaha, 10, of Saterajhoda-4 was abducted while he was returning from school. Family of Shaha has appealed for the safe release of the child. Sunsari district police office said police were clueless about the fate of the abducted child. — HNS

Tipper mishap

TANAHUN: Bimal Shrestha, 17, of Manpang-3 was killed after a tipper hit him at Sehara of the same VDC on Tuesday. The tripper’s driver, heading from Damauli to Khaireni, was taken into custody, the police said. — HNS
