Dhangadhi, May 19:

The budget released by the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction to the Kailali District Administration Office for distribution to the displaced is yet to be spent.

The Ministry released a sum of Rs 1.32 crore for the internally displaced people, however, only Rs 16.14 lakhs have been distributed so far, the Kailali DAO said.

Over 550 families had filed applications to the DAO saying they were displaced during the conflict. Most of the fund was not used as families who had filed the applications have not come to claim the fund, CDO Kshetra Bahadur Bhandari said.
