Nepal, Mozambique match washed out

Kathmandu, May 24:

Rain deprived Nepal of certain victory over Mozambique in the ICC World Cricket League Division-V in Jersey today.

Captain Binod Das and left-arm spinner Basanta Regmi completed five-wicket haul each to restrict Mozambique to 70 in 28.5 overs but heavy downpour forced the abandonment.

Rain intervened with Nepal facing just one ball in their run chase. The two teams will meet again on Sunday, the reserve day. Right hand seamer Das finished 5-16 off 10 overs while Regmi took 5-8 off just 5.5 overs.

It was Regmi’s first five-wicket haul at an international tournament.

Nepal defeated Germany by seven-wicket in the opening day on Friday.

Nepal will meet Norway on May 26 before taking on Vanauta the next day. Nepal will play their last league match against the United States on Wednesday.
