Milan, May 28:
Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini looks set to leave the Italian champions after a meeting with club owner Massimo Moratti, Italian news reports said on Wednesday.
The club has not made an official announcement and neither Mancini nor Moratti made comments to the press after the 25-minute meeting Tuesday afternoon.
But Italian newspapers said on Wednesday that the meeting sealed the end of Mancini’s tenure at Inter. The reports said that former Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho would replace Mancini. “Mancini-Inter: It’s Over,” Gazzetta dello Sport said in its online editions. Gazzetta quoted Mancini’s agent, Giorgio De Giorgis, as saying that Mancini “didn’t think it could end this way.”
“Roberto is very sorry, also because the job was not done yet, one could try winning more leagues, maybe also the Champions League,” De Giorgis was quoted as saying.
