4 killed in mishaps

Sarlahi/Hetauda, June 3:

Four persons were killed in separate road mishaps in Sarlahi and Makwanpur districts within the last 24 hours.

Janak Bamjan (20), a resident of Parwanipur, was killed after falling from the hood of a jeep heading to Lalbandhi from Parwanipur of Sarlahi today, police said.

Likewise, tractor worker Jeevan Bhandari (13) of Atrauli VDC-9 was killed when a tractor loaded with sand crushed him in Pattharkot VDC of Sarlahi today, locals said.

Two persons died and eight injured when a Kathmandu-bound bus from Sarlahi’s Bayalbas met with an accident in Karrakhola in Hetauda of Makwanpur last night.

One of the deceased has been identified as Sujan Bholan (20) of Sarlahi’s Parwanipur, while the other killed in the accident is a woman whose identity was yet to be ascertained.

Susmita Rajbhandari, Gyanendra Acharya, Chandra Maya Alemagar, Rudra KC, Jagat Bahadur Lama, Garima Amatya, Kusum Devi Bhujel and Saraswoti Shrestha were injured in the mishap and they returned.

Driver Shanker Rai, who had fled after the mishap, came in contact with the police this morning. Rai told the police that the bus skidded off the road while trying to save a pedestrian.
