Jhapa, June 13:

Transportation in Kakarbhitta ground to a halt today due to a strike staged by the transport workers to protest damage caused to their vehicles by agitating students.

Students had yesterday vandalised four vehicles in Kakarbhitta to protest lack of school-level textbooks. More than 10 students and two transport workers were injured in a clash that followed.

A meeting of students, teachers, guardians, transport workers, political parties and police was held here today to settle the issue but it ended without any conclusion.
