Pokhara, June 30:

District Administration Office, Kaski, has said it would attempt construction of barbed wire fence along the gorges of Seti river.

Chief District Officer of Kaski Baliram Prasad Singh said the construction of the fence was necessary for the security of local people and visitors. The administration took the decision following a mishap in which a two-and-a-half-year-old child, Aradhana Pradhan, fell into a 60-feet-gorge some days ago.

Landslides have created many big gorges along the banks of the river.

Sher Bahadur Magar, a resident of Hariyokharka in Pokhara said many cattle had disappeared in the gorges.
