Kathmandu, July 5:
Golden Gate hammered Caspian Valley by 135 runs and CCRC ‘B’ cruised to a seven-wicket victory over Malpi Institute in the third CCRC Twenty20 Inter-college Cricket Tournament today.
Golden Gate scored 161 before dismissing Caspian to a paltry 26 runs in 11.3 overs. Dipendra scored 63 off 45 and Kanishka Chaugain made 33 from 21 balls. Patrick Pokharel took 3-40 and Bijay Gautam 2-31 for Caspian.
In reply, none of the Caspain batmen reached the double figures. Man of the match Suraj Timalsina completed a five wicket haul (5-1) in just nine balls. Binod Das and Chandan Shrestha also bagged two wickets each.
In another match, Malpi were bowled out for 74 runs in 18.1 overs and CCRC overcame the total losing three wickets in 13.2 overs. Nibesh Tamrakar top-scored with 15 runs for Malpi. Man of the match Sumit Shrestha took 4-16 while Rupesh Shrivastav and Rajat Singh claimed two wickets apiece for CCRC. In reply, Jaspal scored unbeaten 46 off 43 balls and Rupesh chipped in 13 not out runs for CCRC. Sohail Karki claimed two and Kiran Shrestha one wicket for Malpi.
