Madhyapur Thimi, July 20:

Locals of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality said they would launch protest programmes against the erstwhile high-powered Bagmati Area Sewerage Construction Improvement Implementation and Monitoring Project for providing public land in Thimi as compensation to the people evacuated from the banks of Bagmati river.

As a part of their protest programme, locals said they would request the Ministry of Land Reforms and the Ministry of Physical Planning and Works tomorrow to annul the registration

of the public land in individuals’ names.

According to sources, 10 ropanis of public land in Madhyapur Thimi-16 under plot No 345 ‘’Kha’’ have been registered in the names of seven individuals.
