President’s security
KATHMANDU: Newly elected President Dr Ram Baran Yadav and Vice President Parmananda Jha would get fool-proof security once they are sworn in on Wednesday, a home ministry official said. The official said that the government had already decided to mobilise 275 army men for the security of the President and 75 army men for the Vice President. Nepal Police has been providing security to the the President and Vice-President till now. — HNS
Call to end syndicate
KATHMANDU: The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) on Tuesday urged all organisations concerned to end the syndicate system in transport sector. “Since the government has adopted the policy of providing qualitative, scientific, reliable and well-managed public transport service to the people, the DoTM appeals to all organisations concerned to end the syndicate system,” a press release issued by DoTM stated. — HNS
KU starts M Ed degree
Lalitpur: Kathmandu University School of Education on Tuesdaylaunched a new academic programme called Masters of Education in Environment Education and Sustainable Development (M Ed in EESD). The programme was launched in collaboration with the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, the Oslo University College, Norway, and the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Speaking at the launching ceremony, Tore Toreng, Royal Norwegian Ambassador to Nepal, said that the launch of the degree was a wise decision of KU — HNS
