FNCCI on warpath
KATHMANDU: The FNCCI on Wednesday announced protest programmes against the syndicate system of truck entrepreneurs in the far-west. The protests include submitting memos to CDOs in the far-west and demonstration with black flags and banners on July 27. The FNCCI will file a writ petition on July 28 against the system that had already been disbanded by the Supreme Court. “If the new government failed to end the syndicate system within a week of its formation, the federation will close down all business on the eighth day,” stated a release issued during a press conference. — HNS
Experts in Narayanhiti
Kathmandu: A team of archaeologists and technicians on Wednesday visited the Narayanhiti Palace to study the palace premises. The government plans to develop part of the palace as a national museum. The team was headed by acting director general of Department of Archaeology Bishnuraj Karki. Karki said the government had decided to allocate 133 ropani of land inside the Palace for the proposed museum. “We will prepare a report on infrastructure and human resources required for the museum. The museum will function as an entity of the DoA for the time being. It can be turned into an autonomous committee later,” Karki said. — HNS
