Ciampoli feted
KATHMANDU: Nepal National Martial Arts Games Committee (NNMGC) felicitated Italian karate coach Enricho Ciampoli on Wednesday. Ciampoli was honoured for his contribution to the development of karate in Nepal at a programme. The Eight-DAN Ciampoli has been regularly providing training to the the players and coaches since 1990. At present, Ciampoli is here to provide training to the Nepali karate coaches. President of NNMGC Krishna Bahadur Balal, President of Nepal Shito-Ryu Karate Do Association and General Secretary of Nepal Karate Federation Kedar Babu Siwakoti among others honoured Ciampoli. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Brihaspati Vidhya Sadan (BVS) defeated Bagmati Boarding School 40-20 in the boys’ section match of the BVS Inter-school Home and Away Basketball Tournament here on Wednesday. In the girls’ section, Bagmati School defeated hosts Brihaspati 16-9. On Friday, Young Hearts will take on Elite Co-Ed at the latter’s court. — HNS
Don Bosco win
KATHMANDU: Bikram Dhungana scored a hat-trick as Don Bosco Nilgiri School of Morang defeated Bright Horizon Children Home 4-0 in the Group C match at the Coca-Cola Inter-school National Football Tournament here at the Dasharath Stadium on Wednesday. Dhungana scored in the 41st, 53rd and 71st minutes, while Anish Shrestha netted a goal in the 47th minute for the winners. In the other match, Gyankunja Boarding School of Pokhara beat Gyanodaya Boarding School 2-0. Biswas Tamang and Tek Bahadur Ale scored one goal each. On Thursday, it’s: Social Public vs Siddhartha Vanasthali and Deep Jyoti vs Sautha School. — HNS
