The statement was released a day after the New York Post reported Olsen had refused to talk to investigators about the incident unless she was granted immunity.

The request sparked speculation that Olsen may have been culpable in some way for Ledger’s death, with some reports alleging that police believed she may have helped him get Oxycontin and Vicodin pai-nkillers without a prescription. Olsen was not present at the time, but she was the first person called after his housekeeper discovered Ledger’s body. Olsen reportedly sent her bodyguards to check the scene before police were called.
