Youths asked to curb emission

Kathmandu, August 10:

Constituent Assembly members and government officials today asked youths to take initiatives to minimise the impact of climate change.

Speaking at an interaction organised by the Ministry of Education and Sports, CA member Gyanendra Kumar said, “Youths should be mobilised to minimise the impact of climate change.”

The UN is celebrating International Youths Day on August 12 with the slogan ‘Youth and Climate Change: Time for Action.”

He said the YCL would be mobilised in environment sector if the government failed to formulate appropriate policies to reduce the emission of harmful gases.

MoES secretary Shankar Panday said people should do their bit to reduce emission of harmful gases.
