Activists of the Nepal Tarun Dal (NTD) and Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) today staged demonstrations in Kalaiya to protest the attack on NTD district president Lukesh Singh by an unidentified gang yesterday. Singh was seriously hurt in the firing.

They demanded action against the guilty. NSU Bara president Ramakanta Prasad accused the police of releasing two persons who were held on suspicion of involvement in the attack. Issuing a joint press statement yesterday, NC Bara president Radhechandra Yadav, NTD Bara’s acting president Kishori Yadav and NSU’s Bara presidents Birendra Prasad Yadav and Ramakanta Shah flayed the attack.
