Sindhupalchowk, August 23:

Australian ambassador Graeme Lade has expressed hope that Nepal would witness economic and social development.

Lede came to Duwachaur of the district yesterday to attend a programme of Balsudhar Secondary School.

He said the goal of economic development would be accomplished once peace was restored in Nepal. Economic development will pave the way for development of the education sector, Lade said. The ambassador handed over 10 computers provided by the Australian Embassy to the school.

Computer classes will be run from grade VI to X in the school, which has over 500 students.

Speaking at the programme, Krishna Subedi, chairman of Child Nepal, urged the ambassador to provide help for the construction of roads in the district.

District Education Officer Lekhnath Niraula promised to help the school impart computer education and execute other programmes.
