House collapse

RAJBIRAJ: One person died and four injured when a house collapsed at Portaha-6 of Saptari on Tuesday. Nine-year-old Babita Kumari Mandal, a flood victim, died when the house where she was staying in collapsed. Meanwhile, a body of a two-year-old Himesh BK, son of Tularam BK of Rajbiraj-5 was found in a stream in Rajbiraj-5 on Tuesday. — HNS

Prayers for flood-hit

MANGALBARE: Residents in Pashupatinagar of Ilam held group prayers on Monday for relief of the flood-affected people in Sunsari. During the prayers, the locals also collected Rs 27,440 for the relief of the victims. The locals have also collected clothes worth Rs 3 lakh and said the relief would be handed over to disaster relief committee of Sunsari. — RSS

KAPILVASTU: District Public Health Office, Kapilvastu, has launched a week-long campaign to vaccinate all people above 15 in Kapilvastu Municipality against Japanese Encephalitis. The campaign was launched in collaboration with DDC, the municipality, Nepal Family Planning Association and Merie Stopes Clinic. The campaign will end on Thursday after vaccinating over 35,000 people. — RSS
