Lalitpur, October 24:
A senior leader of the Nepali Congress has called on the government to withdraw its decision to impose education cess on institutional schools.
Speaking at a tea party organised organised by the Lalitpur branch of the Nepal Teachers’ Association on the occasion of Tihar, NC leader Sher Bahadur Deuba said, “Private schools, which have been providing quality education, will shut shops pretty soon if the government does not review its decision.”
He urged the government to seriously think about problems of temporary teachers working in government schools. “These teachers were pinning high hopes on the new government. But the new administration has failed to meet their expectations,” the NC leader said.
