Hetaunda/Tanahun, October 31:
Four persons have died in road mishaps in the last three days.
A contractor of Hetaunda Municipality-2, Shalik Ram Neupane, died today when a car skidded off the Bhainse-Simbhanjyang section of the Tribhuvan Highway and fell 80 feet down the road. Passengers Radha Devi Dawadi, Ram Krishna Dawadi and Sri Dawadi, who were injured
in the incident, are undergoing treatment in the Hetaunda hospital, the police said.
Two persons were injured when a motorbike hit a bicycle in Hariwan of Sarlahi district today.
Motorcyclist Lal Bahadur Lama of Ghurkauli Village Development Committee-2 and cyclist Tamradhoj Karki (22) of Ghurkauli VDC-8 were injured, the police said. Lama has been taken to the Birgunj-based Narayani sub-regional hospital for treatment.
Three persons died in mishaps in Tanahun district on Wednesday and yesterday, the police said.
Twentyfive-year-old Om Prakash Kumal of Pyuthan district died when a tanker, which was heading to Pokhara from Damauli, hit him last night, the police said. Tanker driver Mukunda Thapa has been held.
In another incident, 28-year-old Tirtha Bahadur Nepali, who was injured when he fell off a jeep fell off the road at Phurkot Village Development Committee-5 yesterday, died at the Pokhara- based Gandaki Zonal hospital.
The ill-fated jeep was bound for Chitwan from Lamjung district. The police have held jeep driver Dipak Thapa. Nepali was a resident of Chowkchisapani Village Development Committee-7.
In another incident, Prem Pandey, a resident of Phurkot VDC-1, died when he fell from a hill near his house yesterday, the police said.
Two persons were injured when a minibus and a motorbike collided at Khairenitar of Dulegaunda Village Development Committee-7 on Wednesday.
The police identified the two as motorcyclist Dev Bahadur Khadka of Solukhumbu and pillion-rider Kamal Shrestha of Dhading district. The two have been undergoing treatment in the Gandaki zonal hospital.
Seventeen-year-old Shankar Gurung of Byas Municipality was injured when Jeet Bahadur Thapa stabbed him on Tuesday night.
