Pokhara, November 4:

This year’s Rastriya Balpratibha Puraskar, instituted by senior litterateur Sharubhakta and operated by Pokhara-based Kumudini Homes Higher Secondary School, will be conferred on volleyball player Siropa Gurung on November 20.

A meeting of the selection committee decided to award Gurung to recognise her remarkable achievement in sports sector at a tender age.

The award will be handed over to Siropa Gurung (15), a ninth grader at Pokhara based Fishtail Higher Secondary School, amid a function on November 20, said Ashok Palikhe, member secretary of the Award Distribution Committee. The award carries a purse of Rs

15,000 and a letter of appreciation.

The award is given to a child below 16 every year for his or her outstanding contribution to ant sector.
