Kathmandu, November 10:
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said today that science and technology can play a crucial role for national development.
“The government will give due priority for the promotion of science and technology,” he said. The PM said this while inaugurating the Fifth National Conference on Science and Technology organised by the National Academy of Science and Technology. A total of 1200 scientists — from Nepal and abroad — are taking part in the conference. The participants will discuss ways to use science for national development. “A science assembly will be set up soon to promote science and technology,” the PM said. He said science and technology should usher the nation in an era of development.
The participating scientists will present 654 papers on physics, biology, botany, agriculture, medical science, engineering and other topics.
