KHAJURA: Workers at Ganapati Kattha Factory have launched an agitation saying that the management did not reinstate their 25 colleagues sacked some time ago. New office-bearers

BUTWAL: The sixth general convention of Western Transport Entrepreneurs’ Committee elected a 17-member new working committee under the leadership of Gupta Bahadur KC. Raju Gurung was elected senior vice-president, Prakash Shreshta, Yuva Raj Pant, Bhim Bahadur Thapa, Prem Bahadur Khatri and Tom Pandey vice-presidents, Ganesh Prasad Pant secretary, Tika Ram Chaudhary treasurer and Pratap Bahadur Karki joint-secretary. Union conference

KATHMANDU: The fifth national conference of All Nepal Progressive Trade Unions’ Federation (ANPTUF) kick-started on Friday. Inaugurating the three-day long conference, ANPTUF coordinator Ram Singh Srish said the union would strive for the welfare of labourers. Some 600 representatives from 55 districts are attending the conference that is being held at Bhrikuti Mandap. Constituent Assembly member Pari Thapa said his party would fight to preserve nationalism, democracy and freedom. The conference will choose new office-bearers. — RSS
