Elderly abducted

Mahottari: An unidentified gang abducted an elderly man from Ramnagar in Mahottari district on Tuesday. The abductee, Jaya Bahadur Moktan, 60, is a resident of Ramnagar, and was on his way home from Gaushala when he was abducted. “A gang of nine have demanded Rs 5 lakhs as ransom over the phone,”

Houses gutted

BHOJPUR: Two houses belonging to Manaraj Rai and Sri Bahadur Rai in Sanodumma Village Development Committee-4, Bhojpur, were gutted on Tuesday morning. The fire is learnt to have started when there was nobody in the houses. Buffaloes, bullocks and goats were also burnt to death, along with the loss of property.
