Baitadi, November 25:
Krishna Bohara, an assistant health worker who was thrashed on Saturday night for condemning Maoists and was abducted while he was on way to hospital the next day was released yesterday.
A gang of more than 20 people had abducted Bohara when he was heading to Baitadi bazaar, the district headquarters, from Dholyamod of Bhumiraj VDC at 10:30 pm yesterday. “Bohara has been undergoing treatment in Team Hospital in Dadeldhura,” said the Baitadi District Police. However, locals claimed that five Maoist cadres had thrashed him before his abduction after Bohara condemned the Maoists. On route to the hospital in a bus for treatment after being beaten up Bohara was abducted from Bitthada, the eyewitnesses said.
Bohara, a permanent resident of Kafalseri-4 of Bajhang district, has been living in the house of PLA fighter Nara Bahadur Bohara ‘Nirman’ at Kuwakot.
“As Bohara has not been in contact, additional details have not been received as yet,” said the Baitadi DPO.
