Kathmandu, December 8:
After a month-long strike, the cable car service of Manakamana Darshan Pvt Ltd is set to resume its service tomorrow morning.
Agitating locals and the MDPL management made a deal, opening the lockout late yesterday night. MDPL managing director Rajesh Babu Shrestha said the service would resume only on Tuesday morning because the machinery needed to be checked and maintained.
Manakamana locals had been demanding Rs 5 million annually for the development of the area, against a two-year-old agreement that MDPL would provide Rs 500,000 annually over the three following years.
The cable car had remained out of service since November 13.
