This is a much awaited award night by both musicians and music lovers. Like the previous so many years, people participated with great enthusiasm to nominate their favourite artistes. And the judges, who are well known faces in the music industry, will be taking the final decisions which will be declared at the function.

One unique feature of Hits FM Awards is that it comes up with new categories every year. And this year there is a double bonanza as they have introduced two new categories - Best Rock Vocal Performance and Pop Rock Album of the Year. The speciality of this year’s award is the young and energetic group of artistes who have come up in the music scenario and are giving it a new vibe.

Another integral part of the function is the Lifetime Achievement Award. Pushpa Nepali will be posthumously honoured with the award at this year’s awards.

A music award show would never be complete without some invigorating performances. And to mesmerise the audience, they have a great line up of popular artistes like Karma, Ciney

Gurung, Radha Rai, Nima Rumba, Shreya Sotang, Mukti and the Revival, Deep Shrestha, 1974 AD, Vedh, Rajesh Payal Rai, Meera Rana and the Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory Big Band all ready to wow the crowd.

The awards will be aired live 3:00 pm onwards on Nepal TV, through Hits FM’s website hitsfm.com.np and nepalnews.com and Hits FM. — HNS
